A month for the Blokes

This year little NZ is playing host to the Rugby World Cup which has inspired this month’s theme of Blokes Food. In less than one week we are going to be bombarded with a movement of potentially over-zealous and certainly hugely passionate rugby fans. Auckland is looking prettier than ever and I have been declaring my new-found lust for this city to anyone who will listen.

Stunning new architecture, contemporary eateries, entertainment spaces and more efficient road and transport systems are just about ready to serve to our guests.  And although I haven’t visited Dunedin lately I am planning a trip to the little city where I can visit their indoor stadium and roll around on the REAL GRASS (an impressive world first).

Women are completely outnumbered by men in both our Dunedin and Auckland offices so this month is for the masses. In my experience, when Blokes cook it is full of protein, it is robust flavours and hearty portions served boldly and victoriously.  If there is a footy game on, there will probably be a couch involved and certainly beer in the fridge – you will rarely find a group of males sitting at the table, swirling wine and talking about its vintage.

As well as the Blokes recipes, the ourkitchen team have been recently involved in a couple of events. We would like to share our recipes and stories from the Solar Decathlon as well as the Auckland HomeShow so watch this space.

Oh and go the mighty, mighty All Blacks!
